Introduction

Flame-proof motors are recommended where explosive atmospheres may arise from inflammable gases, dust, or airborne particles. Their construction prevents internal sparks from escaping the motor enclosure and contacting the surrounding atmosphere. LHP offers IE2, IE3 and IE4 flame-proof motors compliant with IS/IEC/EN 60079-1, for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22; gas groups I, IIA, IIB and IIC; and temperature classes up to T6. Flame-proof brake motors and single-phase versions are also available.

Inverter duty motors are recommended when a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is used to control process parameters. Their special construction withstands VFD voltage spikes and supports very low-speed operation without overheating. LHP tests inverter-duty motors with VFDs at its KLPL- and PESO-approved Test Lab. Available in IE2, IE3 and IE4 efficiencies, they feature insulated bearings, dual-coated high-grade copper winding wires, 100% vacuum-pressure impregnation, and optional force cooling after application review.

Roller Table Motors are specially developed for conveyors that move steel billets through roller mills in steel plants. They comply with IPSS No. 1-03-007-14 and are available up to 450 frame size in 4, 6 and 8 poles, for ambient temperatures from −35°C to +70°C.
